Pediatric Tuina

Pediatric tui na massage is a particular form of Tui Na Massage that can be used to treat children as a gentle alternative to acupuncture.

About Pediatric Tuina

Tui Na or tuina as other people call it is an especially attractive option for treating children because it is so gentle and it has no unwanted side effects. During the session, the therapist activates the pressure points without the use of needles to manipulate the overall flow of energy, just as with the practice of acupuncture. Until the age of 6, children respond well to this gentle form of therapy.

Pediatric Tuina massage works with restoring the energetic balance of the body. It can also be used to treat several conditions, including nausea, lack of appetite, fever, nightmares, diarrhea, and bedwetting. It is very helpful to use TuiNa to prevent illnesses by restoring energy balance. Some easily identifiable symptoms that a child is having an energetic imbalance are irritability, clinginess, excessive hunger and thirst, lack of appetite or redness in the cheeks.

In addition, Pediatric Tui Na promotes healthy maturation as it involves gentle touches and massages from our experts. Research has shown that babies and infants thrive from the touch of a loving parent. In fact, children who receive this sort of attention are healthier and gain weight properly throughout their development.

Cupping therapy is an ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice that involves suctioning or vacuuming sections of the body. The cups are heated by swabbing rubbing alcohol on the bottom and then lighting the cup. It can also be done by placing an inverted cup over a flame to aid in suctioning.
