What is Seiki?
Seiki is a method of healing that facilitates the flow of energy through the body, clearing energy blockages and creating an awareness of energy flows – A Way.
Founded by Akinobu Kishi Sensei, Seiki is the flowering of his immense experience in Shiatsu and wisdom. in a long tradition of Japanese healing and spiritual practice and, non-culture specific as its main intention is to become more of ourselves. Since central to it is the injunction to become more ourselves, it is, at base, non-culture specific too.
Seiki incorporates bodywork treatments, Katsugen spontaneous movement and, most importantly, space to experience and enjoy life as embodied human beings breathing again.
Fundamentally, Seiki treats the breath. By following the movement of the breath, the body rediscovers its space, its originality. It is the simplest and purest form of healing I have ever experienced. Seiki provides the space for encouraging inner awareness and sensitivity, recognition that the body always expresses what it needs, essential for making connections and noticing the undetected – an absolute necessity for clearing stagnant energy and releasing habitual patterns.
Who is it for?
Seiki is for everyone. It does not follow a particular religion, but it certainly embraces aspects of Shinto and Zen Buddhism. Shinto has been an established part of Japanese culture for at least 2000 years. It has a reverence for nature, a belief that life energy exists in all things, both animate and inanimate. It focuses on the here and now, on the ability to grow and change, incorporating an enduring theme for spiritual purification.

Our Effective Seiki Treatment Methods
Functional Medicine & Holistic Nutrition
Functional medicine is about getting to the root cause of a disease or dysfunction, by identifying the triggers, imbalances, pathogenic influences and toxicities. It combines the consultative expertise together with the appropriate diagnostic procedures, like laboratory tests, to help the patient regain balance, wellness and vitality. Diet, detoxication and supplementation are the key tools to correct any imbalance.
How does a consultation at Balance Health look like?
The treatment with our functional medicine practitioner and holistic nutritionist Miles Price is built up in three evaluation steps:
1. Conducting a thorough health, family history, lifestyle and diet evaluation
2. Evaluating blood tests and laboratory results
3. Prescribing specific dietary modifications, with supplemental detoxification support if needed
The benefits of this holistic approach combined with clinical support result in more energy, vitality, and elimination of symptoms.
Know MoreHomeopathy
Homeopathy dates back about 200 years ago when it was first invented in Germany. It is a system of traditional medicine which addresses the whole person: the physical, the mental and the emotional. It treats each patient individually with highly diluted natural substances with the aim of triggering the body’s natural self-healing abilities. Homeopathy not only restores the balance of your prevailing health condition, but also heals the underlying mental or emotional toll you might be suffering from.
A double-blinded, placebo-controlled study from the University of Glasgow, Europe’s largest medical school, showed that over 80 percent of the 24 asthma patients improved significantly after they were given homeopathic remedies.
How does a homeopathy consultation at Balance Health look like?
The first treatment with our homeopath Martin Mailaender is built up as follows:
1. First consultation: In-depth interview about medical report, symptoms, personality, and lifestyle factors (1-2 hours)
2. Analysis: evaluating body, mind and emotions
3. Medical application: prescribing customized remedies (within the first consultation or the day after)
4. Follow-up Consultation: observing the health condition and healing process (5-7 days later)
Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine
In terms of the holistic approach of TCM the interplay between kidney, spleen and liver are highly influencing the proper functioning of the endocrine system. When however the extremely sensitive balance between Yin and Yang gets distracted, e.g. because of a stressful lifestyle, unhealthy nutrition or toxics, the flow of energy becomes easily stagnant which in turn can cause hormonal imbalances.
Chinese herbs and Acupuncture have proven to be highly effective in dealing with hormonal disorders. It helps in reducing the key stress hormones and in reducing menopausal complaints. Acupuncture leverages specific points, such as muscle points or meridians closely linked to the human organs, to detox your body and restore your energy flow. Chinese herbal tea can also help to sooth your liver and strengthen your kidney reproductive system. Depending on your health condition and needs the complementary conjunction of herbal medicine and acupuncture can effectively restore your hormonal balance.

We support you in your journey to HEAL, GROW and FIND BLISS
Anne has a very sensitive and exceptional ability to listen to what the body presents and it is easy to relax in her nurturing, reassuring and confident presence. In her therapeutic work she includes both Shiatsu and Somatic Bodywork, which she can combine skilfully and beautifully. I have found the combination to have a very powerful and supportive effect – especially her verbal guidance brings a deep body/mind relaxation, integration and awareness. Shiatsu can release physical, emotional and mental tension or blockages through the stimulation of specific points on the Asian acupressure meridian system. This stimulation of both the (lack) yin and (excess) yang energy presented in the body and organs helps to balance and restore the body’s innate healing ability. As in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu both facilitates the body to resolve and prevent pain and illness. Through Somatic Bodywork, Anne guides your body through subtle, natural movements to restore and resolve blockages or even trauma that has been consciously or unconsciously stored in the body. This movement therapy gently and safely guides you to increase your ability to tolerate difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions, which is very helpful during pregnancy and especially birth. The treatment continues to work, as in Osteopathy and other therapeutic bodywork, and will take its natural time to integrate and settle in the newness of your balanced body for a few days after the treatment. It is therefore important to wait a few days after the treatment before doing any other therapeutic bodywork or strenuous exercise.
In pregnancy and preferably even before pregnancy, I believe it is our duty as women to detoxify, clarify, heal to prepare our bodies to the best of our abilities and give our children the utmost chance of being healthy and experiencing a safe and an as easy as possible birth. I can truly recommend Anne’s therapeutic work if you share my belief and would allow her to guide your body to heal and open towards your natural mind/body awareness and increase the confidence in your body’s ability to experience a healthy pregnancy, conscious birth and as a result a more content and happy baby.”
