Moxibustion
What does moxibustion do?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), moxibustion is especially effective in the treatment of Yang deficiency or cold-type conditions. People who often have obstructed blood circulation often complaining cold hands and feet, menstrual cramps or other chronic pains, weak immunity, frequent urination, irregular ovulation/menstruation, endometriosis and blocked fallopian tubes situations.
Is Moxibustion safe for pregnancy?
My clinical experience and research suggest that moxibustion is a safe and effective technique to turn a breech baby to normal presentation around 34-36 weeks of pregnancy. The herbal essence of mugwort is absorbed into the points and transported via energy channels, triggering hormone changes which relax the muscles in the uterus and increasing the baby’s activity which encourages him to turn. How would you feel?
During the moxibustion therapy, people will notice the unique mugwort smell which comes with a flooding of warmth that quickly radiates along a specific Meridian/channel. This indicates the arrival of the Qi and signals the flow of Qi and Blood has been unblocked. The process is relaxing and often patients doze off during the treatment.
Moxibustion for fertility
I often perform moxibustion/moxa therapy for patients who come for fertility, pregnancy or menstrual irregularity issues. The results are remarkable and people also enjoy the process.
