She also provides career counselling and life coaching for individuals, as well as corporate training in managing mental health in a workplace.

Trust, Sincerity, Honesty and Loyalty are the values which are very important to me. Throughout my clinical experiences in counselling, it is my honor to be able to join my clients where they are, in a genuine, compassionate and nonjudgmental way. I hold and soothe them with relentless empathy in a safe haven and secure based therapeutic alliance where clients feel comfortable to take risk with me as their companion to go into what is foreign, strange, dangerous, scary, sad, unbearably stressful, painful or unacceptable in their inner lives and face their vulnerabilities together as a team; help them see the process in which they are caught in with their emotions and with other people; reorganize their inner world that make sense of their lives; find their emotional balance and redirect those process into new directions.

I use a humanistic and experiential approach, drawing on my training in attachment science of Emotionally Focused Individual, Couple and Family Therapy (an evidence-based approach to treat emotional disorders and relationship distress), as well as mindfulness and cognitive-based disciplines to offer highly tailored therapies for each individual client to address his/her problem(s).

I provide mental health counselling to teens and adults. I also provide corporate training in managing mental health in a workplace, as well as career counselling for individuals.

Prior to graduation of my master degree and further education in psychotherapies, I had been studying and living in UK, then relocated back to HK for work. I had been worked at different multinational corporations for 10 years in corporate wellness, staff engagement and communications before I became a counselling trainee at St. John's Cathedral Counselling Service and Hong Kong AIDS Foundation. After graduation, I have worked with individuals, couples and families at International Social Service Hong Kong Branch as a Counsellor.

Therapies by Katrine

"Therapy seemed like a roller-coaster ride when I faced my fear, but she was there in the roller coaster car with me."

"My anxiety level has significantly reduced and I feel much better connected with other people after learning new skills to handle my difficult thoughts and feelings through the new approaches Katrine Cheng has suggested to me to do. She helped me to find out what matters to me and what I want to stand for in life to help me be the sort of person I want to be, what strength and qualities I want to develop, how I want to treat myself and others to build the sort of life I want to live when I feel lost and hopeless. Therapy seemed like a roller-coaster ride when I faced my fear, but she was there in the roller coaster car with me. I feel very supported."

"She helped me to deal with my emotions differently and learn about my relationships in ways that make me stronger."

"I had been feeling really powerless and unbearable for quite a long time, Katrine Cheng helped me come to realise that my emotional needs run far deeper than I had imagined, and these emotional experiences throughout my life have somewhat unknowingly impacted how I view myself today. She helped me to join the dots and processed my deep emotions which I didn't even know I had. She helped me to deal with my emotions differently and learn about my relationships in ways that make me stronger."
